Scalloped Potatoes Au' Gratin
6 Medium Potatoes 3 Tablespoons Butter 2 Tablespoons Flour 3 Cups Milk 1 Teaspoon Salt 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper 1/2 Onion, sliced 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Clean Potatoes and cut into thin slices. Melt Butter in saucepan, then blend in Flour, and blend. Add Milk slowly, cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thick. Put 1/2 of the Potatoes in greased 2 quart casserole dish. Cover with 1/2 the Seasonings. 1/2 the Onions, and 1/2 the Cheese, and cover with 1/2 the Sauce. Put the other 1/2 of the Potatoes on top of that, then the other 1/2 of the Seasonings, Onions, and Cheese, and top with the remaining Sauce. Cover and bake in 350* oven for an hour, then uncover and brown the top.
